69 Camaro 427

This 2019 Chevrolet COPO Camaro is a factory drag car powered by a 427ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Anniversary Blue over a race-prepared interior, this example was the first of 69 manufactured for the model year and was presented at the model's announcement at the 2018 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Equipment includes a carbon-fiber hood, wheelie bars, two racing bucket seats, Simpson harnesses, and AutoMeter instrumentation. Options include the Engine Appearance Package and the Racer's Package, which added a parachute, trunk-mounted weight box, and dual batteries. This COPO Camaro was acquired by the selling dealer in January 2021 and is now offered in Anaheim, California, with a bill of sale.

Only 69 examples of the 2019 COPO Camaro were manufactured to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 69 427-powered Camaro ZL1s ordered through the Central Office Production Order (COPO) program in 1969. The exterior of this car is finished in Anniversary Blue with silver stripes and features model-specific front and rear fascias, COPO 50 badging on the front fenders, Chevrolet Performance graphics on the quarter panels, and 427 letting on the carbon-fiber hood. Additional factory modifications include deletion of the side view mirrors, a parachute, and an engine shut-off switch on the rear bumper.

The chrome 15″ Weld Racing wheels were specific to the 2019 COPO Camaro and are mounted with Hoosier Racing slick tires measuring 28/4.5 up front and 9/30 out back.

The race-prepped interior features two cloth bucket seats with pass-throughs for Simpson harnesses. Netting is installed in the driver's door window, and a Hurst shifter sits in place of the center console. The safety cage was approved by the NHRA in 2018 for 8.5-second ¼-mile run times and slower.

A 10k-rpm tachometer is mounted to the A-pillar of the safety cage, and additional AutoMeter instrumentation includes gauges for fuel pressure, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and transmission fluid temperature. No odometer is present.

The trunk houses the fuel cell and a voltmeter for the dual battery system. The optional Racer Package also adds a trunk-mounted weight box.

The LSX-based 427ci V8 features Holley electronic fuel injection and straight exhaust. The 50th Anniversary Engine Appearance Package adds an orange finish to the engine block, chrome valve covers, and a black high-rise intake manifold.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via an ATI Racing Products three-speed TH400 automatic transmission.

The certificate adhered to the trunk shows that this car was originally assigned the serial number "COPO 001."
